Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic GP to come and join our team at Littlewick Medical Centre, which is a forward thinking training practice located a short drive from both Nottingham and Derby. We are a supportive team with a passion for teaching, innovation and excellent patient care. The successful applicant will work 6 sessions a week, including Friday.
Main Duties of the Job
- To deliver high quality medical care for both acute and chronic conditions from our main surgery in Ilkeston and our branch surgery in West Hallam.
- To complete home visits as needed.
- To review test results and action them appropriately.
- To keep accurate medical records as per GMC best practice.
- To complete paperwork such as referrals, letters and reports in a timely manner.
- To take a share of covering the duty doctor and triage roles at the practice.
- To work effectively as part of the clinical team supporting allied health professionals such as our pharmacists, ANPs, practice nurses and physios.
- To be involved with debriefing and supporting both the medical students and the GP registrars.
- To be involves in Quality improvement work such as audits.
- To be committed to self-learning and continuous professional development.
- To attend regular clinical meetings
About us
We are a large training practice based in Ilkeston with a list of approximately 18000 patients. We also have a small branch surgery in West Hallam. We have an excellent team made up of 6 GP partners, 8 salaried GPs, ANPs, pharmacists, practice nurses and HCAs- as well as a strong admin team.
We are proud to be part of Erewash Health Partnership. This is a super partnership made up of 7 local practices in the Ilkeston and Long Eaton area. This has enabled us to develop many effective services to enhance patient care and reduce the GP workload. This includes a visiting service, FCP, On day service which helps with our acute patient demand, pharmacists, mental health workers, Chaplains and the Frailty team. We also work closely with our social prescribers and care coordinators.
We GPs work to 15 minute appointments. We have a home visiting service and Frailty service which covers all the care home needs and the majority of our acute home visits. We are working to the recommended BMA 25 appointments a day where possible.
We put both education and innovation at the heart of our practice. Not only are we a training practice for the Derby Training Scheme, but we also have medical students as well as training nurses, pharmacists, and other affiliated professionals. We are involved in clinical research and are always keen to explore new ways of dealing with the ever-changing demands of General Practice.
We are high QoF achievers and are rated as outstanding by CQC.

GMC registered, currently on the Performers list and has MRCGP or equivalent qualifications.
Valid driving licence
